Aigio is a town and a former municipality in Achaea

Also written as Aeghion, Aegion, Aegio, West Greece, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Aigialeia, of which it is the seat and a municipal unit.

Its population is around 30,000. Aigio is a port town on the Gulf of Corinth.

Aigio, along with Patras and Piraeus, was one of the main export hubs for Corinthian raisins since the 19th century.Today the port is used as a fruit import hub for Chiquita Brands International mainly for import of bananas.

A new 256 m long pier northwest of the existing port was inaugurated on 7 August 2013. The whole project cost 8.6 million Euros and is intended to enhance trade and tourism opportunities for the city.
